My Hometown

I grew up in a city of roughly 13,000 people in central Ohio. Although it was more of an urban area, it is surrounded by rural communities. We are known for our automotive industry as well as our agriculture.

Academic Pursuits

I am currently pursuing a degree in Computer Information Systems with a focus in Cybersecurity. I have always been interested in computers and technology, thanks to various movies and TV shows in the 90s. Technology had begun to advance quickly, and it was being represented in media. The allure of being a hacker or stopping hackers became a large part in movies and shows during my childhood. I am looking forward to pursuing a career in cybersecurity, and I hope to be able to work for a company that is doing good in the world. I want to be able to use my skills to help protect people and organizations from cyber threats.

My Relationship with the Internet

In my early childhood, the internet was not a big part of my life. I remember using it to play games and watch videos, but it was not something that I used regularly. As I got older, the internet became more and more a part of my life. I started using it for schoolwork and research, as well as entertainment. I still remember uploading games via floppy disks. In college is where my use of social media began. Facebook had just hit the scene, and only college students could access it. Now, the internet is an essential part of my daily life. I use it for work, leaisure, communication, and entertainment.
